Mr. Don Langford Platts

Brunson - Mr. Don Langford Platts, 64, of Halls Mill Road near Brunson, died Tuesday afternoon at the Colleton Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born September 18, 1944, in New Ellington, S.C., (Aiken County) he was the son of Dorothy Evelyn Stanley Platts and the late William "Willie" David Platts. Mr. Platts was a longtime radio personality with WBHC in Hampton County where he was affectionately known as "Uncle Don," as well as being known for his deep baritone voice. He was a member of the Brunson Baptist Church.
Surviving besides his mother of Brunson are: one son: David Huston Platts and wife Traci of Summerville, SC, two daughters: Robin Lynn Platts and Devona Fae Platts both of North Charleston, SC, and one step granddaughter Kelsey Gnade of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was predeceased by one brother Gene Platts.
Funeral services will be Friday April 3rd, 2009 at 1 PM in the Brunson Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. R.P. Hodge and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton, SC. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Brunson, SC.
Friends may call on Thursday evening from 5 until 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, 300 Mulberry Street West, Hampton, SC 29924 (803-943-3352) and until noon on Friday when the casket will be placed in the church prior to services.
